India is building a Dam in Arunachal Pradesh to counter China . Arunachal Pradesh, often called the “Hydropower Capital of India,” hosts some of the country’s largest and most ambitious dam projects. The state’s rugged terrain and fast-flowing rivers like the Dibang, Siang, Subansiri, and Kameng provide enormous hydropower potential. Among the major projects, the Dibang Multipurpose Project with a height of ~278 meters and a capacity of 2,880 MW is set to be India’s tallest concrete gravity dam, costing around ₹31,875 crore and expected to be completed by 2032. The Upper Siang Multipurpose Project, planned on the Siang River, is an 11,000 MW venture aimed at both energy generation and strategic river regulation.
