Trump Unveils ‘Board of Peace’ at Davos, Sparks Global Debate

Davos 2026: Trump Launches Bold ‘Board of Peace’ Initiative

At the World Economic Forum held in Davos, former U.S. President Donald Trump once again grabbed international headlines by introducing a new global initiative named the “Board of Peace.” Presenting it as a platform aimed at reducing global conflicts, Trump said the proposed body would focus on resolving some of the world’s most sensitive and long-standing crises, including unrest in the Middle East and war-affected regions such as Yemen. According to Trump, traditional diplomatic systems have failed to deliver lasting peace, and the Board of Peace is meant to offer a more direct and result-oriented approach. He suggested that the panel would include
powerful voices, experienced negotiators, and strategic leaders who could influence decisions beyond conventional international forums.

The announcement quickly triggered a wave of reactions across the global community. Some delegates at Davos welcomed the idea, saying the world needs innovative and bold peace efforts at a time when conflicts are increasing. Others, however, raised doubts about the seriousness of the proposal, pointing out that no clear framework, authority, or operational plan was shared. Experts also questioned whether the initiative would work alongside established institutions like the United Nations or attempt to replace them. On social media, opinions were sharply divided, with supporters praising Trump’s confidence and critics calling the move politically symbolic. Despite the uncertainty, the declaration succeeded in pushing Trump back into the spotlight of global diplomacy, leaving many to wait and see whether the Board of Peace will become a meaningful force or remain an ambitious idea on paper.
